Hurricane Forecast 2021 - NOAA Predicts a "New Average" Hurricane Season this Year - UPDATE

NOAA now predicts 15 to 21 named storms with 3 to 5 major hurricanes

The NOAA hurricane forecast for 2021 is a probable 14 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), of which 7 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including 3 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher).

This is considered the new average hurricane season due to climate change. The previous average was 12 named storms, of which 6 become hurricanes, including 3 major hurricanes.
